Privacy policy

AskRock is an iPhone app. The data controller is Jan Konieczny, contact: [email protected].
What I collect
- Account. The app creates an anonymous account. If you sign in with Apple, I receive an account identifier and - only if you share them - your name and email address. Hide My Email works normally.
- Check counter. How many times you used detection. Without it there is no way to keep the free limit in place.
- The content you check. Photos and text - pasted, or read out of a document or scan - travel through my server to a detection provider: OpenAI today, Anthropic soon. I send them only for the duration of a single check, I don't store them and I keep no history.
- Usage statistics. Anonymous events in Firebase Analytics: what was started and whether it succeeded. No content, no photos.
What stays on your phone
Your conversation with Rock lives in the app's memory and disappears when you close it - I archive it nowhere. Reading text out of a PDF, a document or a scan (OCR) is done by the phone itself. The name from Apple is stored locally so it can be shown in Settings.
What I don't do
- I don't sell data
- I don't track you for ads - the app uses no IDFA
- I keep no server-side history of your checks
Who processes data for me
Google (Firebase - account, counter, statistics) and the detection providers: OpenAI, and Anthropic in the future. The app's servers sit in the European Union, but these providers also process data in the United States, under standard contractual clauses. Whatever I send is subject to their policies - at OpenAI, API content is not used to train models.
Your rights
I keep your account and counter for as long as you want the account. Write to [email protected] and I will delete both. You also have the right to access, rectify, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data, and you can lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (UODO) or the one in your country.
Changes
When a new detection provider is added, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
